(Chandris (England) Ltd. mgrs.).

Anecdotes
This vessel was powered by turbines geared to each shaft with a single reduction gear. This vessel served as an Infantry Landing Ship 1943-45. In 1944 this vessel was re-built at Esquimal BC and Vancouver BC and was transferred to the UK. In 1944 this vesseljoined Combined Operations and landed troops at Normandy on D-Day. This vessel then participated in Operation Dragoon, the invasion of southern France. this vessel was damaged by a mine off Aegina Island Greece and repaire in North Africa. This vessel returned to Esquimalt BC for refit and paid off in 1945. In 1951 this vessel was broken up in the UK.
