Anecdotes
On April 21, 1906 this halibut schooner, under command of Captain Fred Fredericksen, was stranded during a storm at San Josef Bay on the west coast of Vancouver Island BC Canada. This vessel put in and anchored but the storm was so fierce that the anchor dragged. Carried onto the rocks the vessel overturned. The crew of six escaped ashore and were forced to walk overland five miles to the Danish settlement at Cape Scott. Afterward they went on to Quatsino.
