| The Wm.H. Pierce was a cabin cruiser purchased by the United Church of Canada hospital at Bella Bella in 1947. It was employed by Dr. George Darby in his medical missionary work. Laurel Lahay stated (Email to Nauticapedia 21/11/2025) that "My mother Joyce Finnemore was a student nurse in Bella Bella in 1947-1948. She took the photos. On the back it is written "The new launch. Dr. Darby, Miss (Mrs?) McVickers on the bow. Bella Bella Hospital 1948 approx." |
