Anecdotes
Peter Leitch (Email to Nauticapedia 03/11/2025) stated "When my father (Tom Leitch) purchased from a scrap dealer it was still registered as CATARAQUI. We removed the name and re-registered in Midland Ontario as 25E 6544. There was extensive reconstruction work done but the boat was never quite finished. The Beaver Glass Hulls Ltd. logo was always visible on the sides near the transom. Same power and configuration as you’ve identified but 1980 date is incorrect. I guess the scrap dealer never bothered to de-register. I spoke to the (former, terminally ill) owner of Beaver Glass Hulls about raising and repairing the hull and he agreed it was worthwhile, but unfortunately it was never done. In 1988 this vessel was destroyed by fire and sank."
