| David K. Horton (Email to Nauticapedia 06/12/2018) states that "she is still propelled by the original Detroit diesels both 671Ti's. Further, was and is equipped with Capital gears and Walter 61 Vdrives [first build with thermostats attached for the cooling of the oil within the Vdrive] should you wish to list the correct gear for the vessel that was started [original lay-up] in November 1979 to be registered with Transport Canada [Vancouver] in early Dec 1980. Gossip was commissioned by Stuart Watts, as he originally ordered a 53 ft model and as the West Vancouver Yacht Club would not permit the extension of his owners shed he instructed Canoe Cove Manufacturing [in particular a Don Mathesion, their salesman at that time] to block the mold on the 53 and create a 48 ft model so that it would then fit in his shed." |
