Significance of Name In Greek mythology, Danae was an Argive princess and mother of the hero Perseus by Zeus. She was credited with founding the city of Ardea in Latium during the Bronze Age.
 
Anecdotes
Hull- Cedar planking. Frames- Bent Oak. Decks- F.R.P. over plywood. Cabin- Honduras mahogany. Cabin Configuration: Fore and aft cabins, wheelhouse amidships. The vessel ws not registered until 1947 and it was thought that this vessel was used for surveillance of vessels during prohibition. In 2001 this vessel was designated as a Vintage Vessel by the Maritime Museum of British Columbia. In 1981 the Danae won Best Powerboat at the Victoria Classic Boat Festival.
