Significance of Name Name derived from the Quatse River which flows into Hardy Bay South of Port Hardy. It is also a Kwakwala First Nations word meaning "on the west side."
 
Anecdotes
On April 26, 1968 this vessel was destroyed by fire and sank at Plowden Bay, in Howe Sound and was a total loss.
