Anecdotes
---
Bruce Hale (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 09/05/2020) stated "It was a dragger called Jason K that burned completely and sunk in 1984. Somehow the hull ended up in boatbuilder Kenny Hill’s backyard in Sooke BC Canada. My dad and I knew Kenny from the days when they built all the Pelagic boats at the Victoria Machinery Depot in Victoria and also they built a 40’ gillnetter together in his yard in 1974. In 1986 it grounded out to bare hull and built the Port Lincoln. Named after a town where I poled tuna in South Australia. Lengthened 8’ two years later." On October 8, 1985 this vessel suffered a fire in the engine room while near Port San Juan in Juan de Fuca Strait BC Canada.
