Anecdotes
On May 17, 1982 this troller, owned by Clarence Cootes, Kildonan BC, sank for unknown reasons with the loss of her crew in Sydney Inlet. Al Jack (Email to Nauticapedia 06/03/2019) stated that "the Ramsey Isle went down on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Clarence Cootes and his crew: Wilfred (Shorty) Dennis Sr, Phillip Johnson, and Patrick Peters all perished. They were running up to to the Nootka area from Ucluelet for herring fishing when they encountered a storm." The decomposed bodies of her crew, who had to abandon ship without survival suits, were found drifting in the ship's dinghy a month and a half later.
