Anecdotes
George Schneider (Email to Nauticapedia 03/06/2025) stated "On the southbound leg, we saw a yacht in the distance, that with her black hull and classic lines, I was tempted to think was a Navy admiral's barge. She wasn't, and by chance I was able to identify her as the 72-foot aluminum yacht ISLANDER (517987), built by Lantana Boat Yard in Florida in 1969. Her original name was CALYPSO, then TAURUS, then she drops out of documentation for a while, so might have had other names. She comes back as HATHOR, MADELINE, and now ISLANDER. Her present home port is Portland OR, but obviously she spent most of her time on the East Coast."
