Anecdotes
Norman R. Hacking states that "she is wrongly listed in Lewis & Dryden as the New Caledonia." this vessel was launched at the Songhees Indian Village on Victoria Harbour on September 8, 1858. In 1858 this vessel was based at Victoria, Vancouver Island. This vessel was too small to be profitable. This vessel suffered two boiler explosions. Her boiler exploded November 2, 1859 and the wreck drifted from Plumper Pass to Sucia Island WA where this vessel was salvaged by the Eliza Anderson. Her fireman and five others were killed. This vessel was repaired. In November 1865 this vessel was wrecked on the Skeena River.
