He was a law student at the University of Toronto before his recruitment. He attended the Curtiss Flying School in Toronto ON. He received Royal Aero Club Certificate #2008 on 15/10/1915. |

He served in Dover Air Station, 10/01/1916. He served in RNAS Redcar, 23/051916. He served in RNAS Dover Air Station 28/05/1916. He served in RNAS Coudekerque (#5 Wing) 04/07/1916. He was missing from a raid against St.Denis Westrem Aerodrome 22/04/1917 (he was interned in Holland). He was released from internment, 26/04/1918. (He was demobilized.) He was awarded a Distinguished Service Cross. |
