Biography
(He was qualified as a Master Mariner.) He was formerly a Hudson's Bay Company officer in the RMS Nascopie 1934-38. He was the Master of the Roman Catholic Church mission vessel M. F. Thérèse in 1939.

He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCNR (With seniority dated 29/11/1934). (Mobilized for World War Two service) 21/11/1939. He was appointed as an A/Lieutenant-Commander (Temp.) RCNR 1940. He served in HMCS Mayflower (In command) 1940. He served in HMCS Mayflower (In command) 1941. After the torpedoing of HMCS Levis he was commended by a Board of Enquiry for performing a good feat of seamanship in twice getting H.M.C.S. LEVIS in tow and towing her for twelve hours in all.) He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (Temp.) RCNR (With seniority dated 29/11/1942). He served in HMCS Columbia (I) (In command) 1942. He served in HMCS St. Laurent (I) (In command) 1943. He was appointed as a A/Commander (Temp.) RCNR. He served in HMCS Runnymede (In command) 1944. He served in HMCS St. Laurent (I) (In command) 1945. He was appointed as a Commander RCN(R). He served in HMCS Scotian on Staff as Executive Officer Ships In Reserve 1946. (He was demobilized.) He was appointed as a Commander RCN(R) (Retired) (With seniority dated 01/07/1946). (He was fully qualified as a reserve officer)
