Anecdotes
On October 23, 1949 this tanker ran aground in dense fog a half mile east of the Second Narrows bridge in Vancouver Harbour. this vessel was outbound and ran onto the tidal flats on the north side of the passage. A portion of her cargo was pumped out to lighten ship and this vessel was towed into deeper water by three C.H. Cates & Sons Co. Ltd. tugs. This vessel then proceeded under her own power to the Pacific Salvage Co. for inspection. In May 1977 this vessel sank after an explosion near Acajutla, El Salvador.
