In 1941 she was commisioned as a Corvette to the Royal Canadian Navy. In 1946 she was owned by Straits Towing Ltd., and Island Tug & Barge, Victoria BC. In 1949 she was sold and converted to a salvage tug operating under her original name. In 1949-1954 she was owned by Badwater Towing Co. Ltd., Vancouver BC. In 1954-1968 she was owned by Island Tug & Barge Ltd., Victoria BC.

Anecdotes
This vessel carried 230 tons of fuel and could reach 16 knots. Her endurance was 3450 nm at 12 knots. This vessel carried a complement of 7 officers and 85-90 other ranks. this vessel was launched on 31/05/1941. This vessel served in the Caribbean and on the New York to Guantanamo Bay Cuba convoys. In 1955 the Greek 8200 ton freighter Makedonia was rescued in the longest (3000 miles) tow to Vancouver BC. On October 22, 1963 while towing the barge Island Maple it broke in half and sank in Juan de Fuca Strait. In 1967 this vessel was decommissioned and broken up.
