As the Hurry Home this vessel was said to have operated as a rum runner. Her Liberty gasoline engines were fitted with smoke-making apparatus (Miles, Fraser (1992)). This vessel formed part of the pre-war Fishermen’s Reserve Fleet. This vessel participated in the 30 January – 25 February 1939 Fishermen’s Reserve Training Session. this vessel was mobilized 15 Sep 1939. In 1939 this vessel was commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy Fisherman's Reserve as H.M.C.S. Marauder. In 1939 this vessel was appraised at $17,539. On December 18, 1951 this vessel foundered, half way between Pine Island and Scarlett Point QCI BC. |
