This vessel earned four battle stars in World War II: 15 Jun - 10 Aug 1944 Marianas operation: Capture and occupation of Saipan; 24 Jul - 10 Aug 1944 Tinian capture and occupation ; 19-28 Feb 1945 Iwo Jima operation: Assault and Occupation of Iwo Jima ; 1 Apr-30 Jun 45 Okinawa operation: Assault and Occupation of Okinawa. In 1950 this vessel was registered in Canada. On December 7, 1959 this vessel sank in Quatsino Sound BC.
