Anecdotes
This vessel used to berth at Bamfield BC while it was active. Stan Logan (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 10/02/2018) reports that "The Jean B was built in Victoria at McKay Cormack Shipyard. Shipwright was Bill Barber (Fred Barber's brother). It was built for Dick Bromwell and after completion found he did not like fishing. The first person he mentioned selling it to was my Uncle Fred Barber. The hull is one of three that I remember, the others were JuJu I and Fisherboy II also fished out of Bamfield. Fred Sr., Fred Jr. and Raymond all owned the boat progressively. The Jean B was lost when it hit Pine Island on its way to Bella Bella with a full load of potatoes in the hold."
