Medium Icebreaking Aids to Navigation Tender to replace the CCGS Saurel and the CCGS Chesterfield. In 1976 under her Master, Captain P. Chouinard, this vesselmade an East to West Transit of the Northwest Passage. The vessel continued on to circumnavigate North America. Again in 1980 under her then Master, Captain E. Chasse, this vesselmade an West to East Transit, Beaufort Sea to Quebec City and continued on to her second circumnavigation of North America. This vessel carried 1 helicopter. In 1976 this vesselmade a West to East transit (under Captain F. Chouinard and Captain P. Pelland) of the Northwest Passage and was transferred to the East Coast. |
