In 1988 this vessel was owned by Canadian Coast Guard. this vessel was a Canadian Coast Guard Icebreaker skippered by Captain S. Gomes in 1988 in a West to East Transit of the Northwest Passage. In 1990 this vesselmade a partial transit of the Northwest Passage, under command of Captain S. Gomes and Captain B. MacQuarrie, westward through Lancaster Sound, Victoria Strait to Demarcation Point and return. In 1991 under the commanded of Captain S. Gomes this vesselcompleted a partial transit of the Northwest Passage westward through Peel Sound, Victoria Strait to the Beaufort Sea. In 2004 this vessel was based at St. John's NF.
