In 1934 she was built for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. In 1939 she was loaned to the Royal Canadian Navy. In 1945 she was declared surplus to R.C.N. and R.C.M.P. requirements and was sold.

Bryon Taylor states that "Birmal Boat No. 2 was custom built for the RCMP. this vessel was built of a new material called ’Birma Bright’, an aluminum alloy, making her light and fast. this vessel was attached to ‘J’ Division and was used as a tender for Ulna until this vessel was turned over to the RCN in 1939." this vessel was employed by the RCN as a despatch boat at Halifax NS.
