Anecdotes |

In 2003 this vessel was sold to Polkinghorne and towed to Bamfield. This vessel lay at Ostroms Machine Shop when her pumps failed and this vessel sank. (This vessel may have been towed later to Ladysmith Harbour where this vessel was broken up.) Al Hosking reports (Facebook British Columbia Nautical History Group 20/09/2015) that :"Around 2003 a flaky character had the Gillking towed down to Bamfield ... this vessel was so rotten there were small alder trees growing out of the deck, and needed a generator or shore power to keep pumps running. ... someone unplugged her and this vessel sank at the old McMillan's dock." |
