On January 11, 1921 this tug (under Captain Coldicott) was struck by a gravel barge in tow of the tug Earl (under Captain Rogers). The incident occurred in fog and the Marvis was crushed and sank in the Second Narrows of Vancouver Harbour. this vessel sank within 3-4 minutes in deep water.The tug Earl ended up her life as a hulk on the shore of Texada Island BC. |
