Clark Stede made, in 1990, an East to West Transit of the Northwest Passage, (this may only be partial transit as the vessel was reported carried by the CCGS Martha Black for 100 miles through heavy ice.) As the Gjoa this vesselcompleted a transit of the Northwest Passage 2013-2015. In 2002 Tony Gooch was the first to complete a non-stop, solo-loop of the globe via the Southern Ocean from a starting point in North America. In 2014-2015 this vesselcompleted a transit of the Northwest Passage under Ann and Glenn Bainbridge. |
