Biography
He was living in Toronto On at the time of his recruitment into the navy. After his naval service he was active in the Navy League as the President of the Vancouver Island Branch in 1983.

He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman RCN in 1947. He served in HMCS Naden. He served in HMCS Uganda. He served in HMCS Ontario. He served in HMCS Stadacona. He served in HMCS Swansea. He served in HMCS Magnificent. He was appointed as a Petty Officer (Second Class) ERA RCN. (CFR). He was appointed as an Officer Cadet RCN 1949. He served in Royal Roads Military College (HMCS Malahat) under UNTD Plan 1949-1951. He was appointed as a Midshipman RCN (With seniority dated 11/09/1950). He served in HMCS Beacon Hill for Training 1950. He served in HMCS Ontario for Training. He served in HMCS Magnificent for Training. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN. He served in the RN for Training. He served in HMCS Wallaceburg. He served in the Royal Naval College Greenwich for Technical Training Courses. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN 1953. He served as Commander Training Group Pacific 1973. He served in HMCS Naden On staff of Maritime Commander (Pacific) as Chief of Staff Readiness 1976. He was appointed as a Commodore (CF) (With seniority dated 01/07/1979). He served as Senior Liaison Officer (Maritime) and Canadian Forces Attache with Canadian Defence Liaison Staff Washington 1979.
