He was appointed as a Paymaster Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 01/03/1942). In 1943 he served in HMCS Niobe. He was appointed as an A/Paymaster Lieutenant-Commander (Temp.) RCNVR. He served in HMCS Avalon 1943. (Transferred to RCN) 1944. He served in HMCS Prince Henry 1944. He was appointed as an A/Lieutenant-Commander (S) RCN). He served in NHQ. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (S) RCN). He served in NHQ 1945. He served in HMCS Naden as Secretary to Flag Officer Pacific Coast 1946. He served in the RN Staff Course 1948.
