He was appointed as a Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS (With seniority dated 02/1917). He served in #9 Naval Squadron (later 209 Squadron) as a Sopwith Camel pilot 1917. Scoring his first and only victory of the year, Taylor downed an Albatros D.III near Dixmude on 28 September 1917. On 2 May 1918, he shot down a white Fokker Triplane flown by Hans Weiss of Jasta 11. Having increased his score to eight, Taylor was killed in action over Hamel when his Camel was shot down by Franz Büchner. Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant RNAS 01/02/1917. He was appointed as a Flight Sub-Lieutenant RNAS 23/07/1917. He served in 9 (Naval) Squadron 1917. He was appointed as a Flight Lieutenant RAF 1918. He served in 209 RAF Squadron 1918. |

He had 7 victories in World War One. Leading his patrol on return from trip over the lines on the Amiens front, he had brought down one enemy aircraft when his Sopwith Camel was hit. He was shot down and killed on 07/07/1918. |
