Biography

 

Military Service

He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman RCNVR. He served in H.M.S. Raleigh (Officer Training Establishment). He served in H.M.S. King Alfred (Officer Training Establishment). (CFR). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 31/12/1941). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 22/06/1942) (Later backdated to 1940). In 1944 he served in HMCS Niobe for duty as Beach Master W-1 RCN Beach Commando "W" in Operation Neptune (He was present at D-Day). (He was demobilized.)
