Biography
He served in the British Merchant Navy with the British India Steam Navigation Co. 1947-1951. After retirement he worked with the Coast Guard Fleet Aviation Office in Coastguard (Marine) Emergencies Office 1975, the Department of Transport as Civil Aviation Inspector (Ottawa) 1982, the Canadian War Museum 1974-1975, and in Real Estate Sales 1975-1993.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Flight Cadet RAF 1951. He served in ITS Cranwell 1951. He served in RCAF Gimli for Basic Flying Training (Harvard). He served in RAF Horsham St. Faith for 74 RAF Squadron 1953-4, (Transferred to RCAF 1954), He was appointed as a Flight Cadet (SSA) RCAF 1954. He served in RCAF London ON for Basic Training 1954. He served in RCAF Trenton for FIS Flying Instructors School 1954. He served in RCAF Winnipeg as Special Flight Instructor (Expeditor) 1957, (Short Service Appointment 1959). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 12/07/1956). He served in HMCS Cornwallis for Leadership School for Officers' Divisional Course 1959. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 12/07/1959). He served in HMCS Shearwater for VT-40/VU-32 Squadrons, Released 1962, (Rejoined RCN 1963). He served in HMCS Stadacona for Junior Officer's Leadership and Technical Courses 1963. He served in HMCS Athabaskan 1963, (Selected for Permanent Commission). He served in HMCS Shearwater/ HMCS Bonaventure for VS-880 Squadron as Operational Pilot 1965. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 01/07/1966). He served in HMCS Bonaventure as Flight Deck Officer 1967. He served in Pickle (Naval Training Yacht) as Navigator for Transatlantic Race 1969. He served in CFB Greenwood for Argus Conversion 1969. He served in CFB Summerside for VP-415 Squadron as Flight Commander 1970. He served in CFB Halifax as Training Officer 1972. He served in HMCS Preserver as Air Officer 1973. Retired 1975.
