After his naval service he was the youngest ever Clerk of the Privy Council (Prime Minister Trudeau's Deputy Minister) he was the key person to engineer the patriation of the Constitution in 1982 which included the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. He served from the mid 1980s until 2002 as vice chairman of Power Corporation, and was a Director Emeritus of the company. |
