His family immigrated to Canada in 1954.

He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN. He served in HMCS Annapolis. He served in HMCS Mackenzie. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN. He was appointed as a Commander RCN. He served in HMCS Fraser (In command) He was appointed as a Captain RCN. He served in Venture (Naval Officer Training Centre). He served in HMCS Halifax. (He was released.)
