He was a clerk at the time of his recruitment into the navy.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman RNCVR. He was appointed as an Able-Seaman RNCVR. He was appointed as a Leading Seaman RNCVR. In 1918 he served in HMCS Galiano. (He died on active service).
