He was appointed as an Electrical Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 28/12/1939). He was appointed as an A/Electrical Lieutenant-Commander (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 01/07/1944) (Later backdated to 1944). He served in NSHQ on the Staff of the Directorate of Warfare and Training 1943. (He was demobilized.)
