Biography
In 1914 he emigrated to Canada, and joined the Grand Trunk Railway as an accountant. After his air force service he served with ICAO in the United Nations.
 
Military Service
He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Artillery in 1914 as a Gunner. He was promoted to Sergeant RCA and served overseas. In 1916 he joined the Royal Canadian Engineers. In 191 he joined the Royal Flying Corps as an Observer. He served with #49 Day Bombing Squadron. He returned to Canada and in 1921 he joined the Canadian Air Force. He served as Adjutant at Camp Borden. He took pilot training and earned his wings. He was posted to Vancouver and completed seaplane training at Jericho beach BC. In 1926 he attended training at RAF Calshott in the UK. In 1927 he was appointed as Station Commander at RCAF Station Cormorant Lake (MB). In 1931 he was transferred to Jericho Beach. In 193 he served with #210 (RAF) Flying Boat Squadron. In 1935 he was transferred to Jericho Beach. He was promoted to Squadron Leader RCAF. In 1938 he was the Commanding Officer of the RCAF Air Navigation and Seaplane School at Trenton ON. In 1940 he was attachd to Western Air Commandat Victoria BC. He was promoted to Wing Commander RCAF. He commanded RCAF Station Patricia Bay. He was appointed as a Group Captain RCAF. In 1944 he was Station Commander at RCAF Dafoe in No. 5 (BandS) Bombing and Ginnery School. (He retired in 1945.)
