He was a son of the late John and Esther (Mauger) Mauger. He served overseas during and after the Second World War from 1945-1947. He also worked for Western Union from 1945-1966. He then went to work for the Bedford Institute of Oceanography from 1966-1986. (He was qualified as a Master Mariner.) In 1981 as Master in the CGS Hudson, a Hydrographic Survey Vessel, he made an East to West Transit of the Northwest Passage. He went on to circumnavigate North America. |
