He was a machinist's helper in the Calgary maintenance shops of the CPR at the time of his recruitment into the navy. After his naval service he resumed his employment in the Field BC maintenance shops of the CPR. After his retirement from the CPR he joined the Corps of Commissionaires and receive their long-term medal. |

He was appointed as a Stoker RCNVR (With seniority dated 27/09/1917). In 1917 he served in the RNCVR Calgary. In 1917 he served in HMCS Niobe. In 1918 he served in HMCS Niobe at Quebec (employed ashore in connection with construction of drifters and their preparation for sea at the Naval Transport Office of Canadian Vickers Ltd.). (Transferred to RCN) He was appointed as a Engineroom Artificer (3rd class) RCN. (He was released.) |
