He served in the merchant service in 1932. Served with Canadian Pacific Steamships, Donaldson Line, Blair Line, CNR, Luneham and Moore in the Merchant Service. He was torpedoed while serving in S.S. Blairspey out of Glasgow in Convoy SC-7 in October 1940. He was elected as Trustee of the Maritime Museum of British Columbia in 1956. Retired on 26/06/1961. He was the Assistant Marine Superintendent of the BC Ferry Corporation. He served as a Master in the Canadian Hydrographic survey vessels in the Arctic and BC coast surveys. |
