Military Service
He served in the Canadian Expeditionary Force. (Transferred too the rNAS) He was appointed as a Flight Sub-Lieutenant RNAS. He was qualified as an Observer.

Anecdotes
He was badly shell-shocked at Ypres Belgium and wounded at the Somme while serving in the army. He was hospitalized for a year. During his observer training course he was killed when his plane was in a mid-air collision.
