He was the Editor and Publisher of the Orillia Daily Packet & Times 1950-1971. He was the author of works of fiction and non-fiction, including The Corvette Navy in 1977 and Gunshield Graffiti in 1980. |

RCNVR (With seniority dated 01/06/1940). He served in HMCS Cancolim as Executive Officer 1940, Trail as Executive Officer 1941. He served in HMCS Stadacona for Command Course 1943. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 15/04/1942). He served in HMCS Minas (In command) 1943. He served in HMCS Camrose (In command) 1944. He was present for minesweeping with 31st Minesweeping Flotilla at Omaha Beach in 1944. (Demobilized on 01/10/1945). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN(R) (He was promoted on Retired List) 1947. (He was qualified with a Watchkeeping Certificate.) |
