He was a graduate of Assumption College (Windsor) and University of Toronto (Dentistry). After a 48 year career in dentistry in Windsor and Ottawa, he retired.

He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1948. He served in HMCS Hunter for UNTD 1948-1949. (He was released.)
