Biography
He served with the Port Line Ltd. 1945-1947. He served with Canadian Pacific Steamships Ltd. 1948-1954. After his naval service he was employed as the Master of the Pandora II (research and submersible support ship) to 1983. He transited the Northwest Passage in 1980 and completed a circumnavigation of North America in 1981. He was the Master of the Lasqueti Island BC ferry 1985-1986. He was the Master of the MV Anastasis (a 'mercy' ship) 1986-1987 and was Relief Master there-after.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as an Officer Cadet RNR. He served in H.M.S. Worcester (Thames Nautical Training College) 1943-1945. He was appointed as an A/Lieutenant RNR (With seniority dated 08/12/1952). (Transferred to RCN through Short Service Appointment). He was appointed as an A/Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 08/12/1952). He served in HMCS Wallaceburg 1954. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 01/07/1955). He served in HMCS Stadacona for Junior Officers Technical and Leadership Courses 1955, (Selected for permanent commission). He served in HMCS Micmac 1956. He served in HMCS Cornwallis 1957. He served in HMCS Crescent 1960. He served in HMCS New Waterford as Executive Officer 1962. He served in HMCS Stadacona on Staff of Training Commander 1963. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 01/01/1963). He served on Staff of Commander Fifth Canadian Escort Squadron as Staff Officer Administration 1965. He served in HMCS Naden as Officer-in-Charge NBCD School 1966. He served as Naval Boarding Officer Esquimalt 1968. He served as Merchant Navy Liaison Officer Esquimalt 1969. (He was retired in 1974). (He was qualified with a Watchkeeping Certificate and qualified to command a destroyer or frigate in 1962.)
