Military Service

(Short Service Appointment). He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (SSA) RCN ((With seniority dated 12/09/1951). He served in HMCS Naden on the Training Staff (West Coast) of the University Naval Training Division (UNTD) 1954. He served in HMCS Sussexvale as Sea Training Officer 1955. He served in HMCS James Bay (In command) 1958, (Selected for permanent commission). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 22/02/1961). (He was released.) (He was qualified to command a frigate or destroyer.)
