Biography
After his naval service he owned a ferrocement boat plant in Mahone Bay (before he started Nautica Booksellers). He was President of the Naval Officer's Association of Canada 1984-1986 and 2002-2003.
 
Military Service
He served in HMCS York 1954. (He served on Continuous Naval Duty). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (CND) RCN(R). He served in HMCS New Liskeard. He served in HMCS Micmac. He served in HMCS Lauzon. She served in HMCS Cataraqui as Staff Officer (Administration) 1958. In 1958 he served in HMCS Cataraqui as Staff Officer UNTD Queen's university. (Short Service Appointment 20/01/1956). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 13/02/1958). (Selected for permanent commission). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 13/03/1959). He served in HMCS Stadacona for Junior Officer Leadership Training Course 1960. He served in HMCS Sussexvale as Executive Officer. He served in HMCS Cowichan as Executive Officer 1964. He served in NDHQ for Duty With Mobile Recruiting Unit Quebec as Officer-in-Charge 1964. He served in HMCS Donnacona as Recruiting Officer. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 01/01/1966). He served on Staff of Commander CC5 as Squadron Administration Officer 1966. He served on staff of STANAVFORLANT 1969. He served in MARCOM on Staff 1971. (He was released 1971.) (He was qualified with a Watchkeeping Certificate.)
