Biography
She graduated from Dalhousie University Medical School in 1990. In 2001 she was appointed as Associate Medical Health Officer of Health for Toronto Public Health. From 2003 to 2005, she was an Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. In 2005 she was appointed Director, Public Health Emergency Management and Physician Epi-demiologist, Vectorborne Disease and Healthcare Associated Infection Prevention programs, BCCDC. In 2007 she was appointed as Medical Director, Public Health Emergency Management for the British Co-lumbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC). In 2011 she was appointed as Medical Director, Communicable Disease Prevention and Control and Public Health Emergency Services, BCCDC and Associate Professor, School of Population and Public Health, University of British Columbia. In 2013 she was appointed as Deputy Provincial Health Officer. In 2018 she was appointed as Provincial Health Officer for BC.
 
Military Service
She was appointed as an Officer Cadet (ROUTP) (NR) 1985. In 1985 she served in HMCS Brunswicker. (Transferred to RCN) MOTP (Medical Officers Training Plan). In 1986 she was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (MED) (NR). She was appointed as a Lieutenant (N) (MED). In 1991-1995 she served at CFB Esquimalt, She qualified as a Flight Surgeon and Advanced Diving Medical Officer at the Defence and Civil Institute of Environmental Medicine (DCIEM) in Toronto in 1992. She served in HMCS Provider as Medical Officer. She was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (MED). (She was released in 1995.)

Anecdotes
In 2018 she was appointed as the Provincial Health Officer for British Columbia, the first woman in this position. Henry is also an Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia. She has a background in epidemiology and is a specialist in public health and preventive medicine.
