He was appointed as a Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS (With seniority dated 1916). He was appointed as a Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS 1917. He served in #13 (Naval) Squadron 1917. (Transferred to RAF 1918). He served in #213 RAF Squadron 1918. He was killed in action in Belgium on 14/10/1918. |

He was shot down by a German naval ace over the Belgian lines. He was buried at the crash site - Coxyde Military Cemetery, Koksijde, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. |
