He was appointed as a Probationary Sub-Lieutenant RCNVR (With seniority dated 07/07/1943). He served in HMCS Kings (Officer Training Establishment) 1943. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 07/07/1943). In 1943 he served in HMC ML-Q078. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 24/05/1944). In 1944 he served in HMC ML-Q076.
