He was appointed as a Electrical Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 16/08/1940). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (SB) (Radar) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 18/08/1941). He was appointed as an A/Electrical Lieutenant-Commander (Temp.) RCNVR. He served in HMCS Scotian. (He was demobilized.)
