Military Service

He was appointed as a Ensign USN. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (jg) USN. He was appointed as a Lieutenant USN. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander USCG. In 1957 he commanded the USCGS Bramble when she travelled as part of a Coast Guard Squadron (Storis, Spar and Bramble), in a West to East Transit of the Northwest Passage (First US Vessels to Transit). He was appointed as a Commander USN. (He retired as a Commander.)
