He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 31/12/1942 later backdated to 1941). In 1943 he served in H.M. MTB-212 (In command). He served in HMC MTB-464 (In command) 1944 and 1945. (He was demobilized in 1945.) He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN(R) (With seniority dated 31/12/1949). (He was released.)
