In 1985 he was the Master of the World Discoverer, a Liberian-registered luxury cruise ship which made the first West to East transit by a passenger vessel (Ice-strengthened). In 1988 he repeated his feat when the Society Explorer, (ex-Lindblad Explorer) a Bahamian-registered cruise ship made a West to East transit. |
